Acid Rain

Nitrous oxide, sulphur dioxide and carbon dioxide pollute the atmospheric air. These are the gases that are emitted due to industrial pollution. These gases mix with the water vapor in the atmosphere and form into nitric acid and sulphuric acid. When it rains these acids reach the ground and pollute the soil. The ph value of the soil is greatly altered after an acid rain. They destroy plant life and aquatic life. In humans they cause skin irritation and breathing disorders. Acid rain also causes corrosion in buildings, bridges and monuments. The taj mahal is a classic example of such decay.
