American rust

American rust is the first novel of Philipp Meyer. But the novel is brilliantly raised on the American economic downturn, and brings out the real threats. This American rust evolves in the small steel town, Buell, in Pennsylvania and revolves around two young gentle men, Isaac and Billy who gets into a murder case. Billy is arrested and held in a brutal state prison, while Isaac takes a trek to California and is guilt about his jailed friend and abandoned father. Grace, mother of Billy is alarmed for her son. Though some events sound melodramatic, the novel portrays the struggle of young Americans.
