Restaurant Snobbery
Some of the restaurant owners in Chennai seem to think that they are in New York. Not a single word of the local language is uttered and it is necessary for you to learn a bit of English even if you want to have a cup of coffee in these places. Coffee is no more the traditional drink as we all know as it has become cappuccino now. The waiters make you run for cover with their chaste English. Even the local delicacies have their name printed in English in the menu card. Customers who chat in English are always preferred and they get served better.
